Settlement!!!!!

So we settled about two weeks ago! I finally understand how everyone says they are super busy after settlement! Moving plus getting the house together on top of school and work left me exhausted. So sorry I'm just getting a chance to post. Now that things have calmed down a bit I can report that we LOVE our house and neighborhood! The rooms are really starting to come together and it's feeling very homey! I threw in a pic from settlement and a sneak peak of our living room. I will try to post more pics soon!

Pre-Settlement

So I had my pre-⏏ settlement meeting this week. Although there was 4 inches of show outside I was determined to get there LOL. The meeting went well and made me even more excited about the house finally being done. Not much has changed since my last visit but it was still nice seeing everything clean and hearing the PM explain how everything works. We are at the end of this journey and I couldn't feel more blessed that we have been able to build my dream house. We close on Monday!!! My husband plans to move in later that day LOL we are wasting no time! I know it's def time to move because I am running out of room to keep all the furniture/decor I've bought! I will end with a couple pics from the meeting and will be sure to post one we finally get those keys!

Hubby has a lot to put together! Lol

Playing the Waiting Game

So we are officially playing the waiting game because the house is 98% DONE! I am soooo happy with the way everything turned out. I am so excited but also going crazy because even though the house is ready, settlement is still a couple of weeks away. So as of now we are set to have our Pre-Settlement meeting on Feb 17th. I am looking forward to learning the in's and outs of the house. Also because even though for the most part the house looks great, there are still some minor things that need to be addressed that I will point out. We are set to close on Feb 23rd. It seems so close yet so far away. The last time we walked through the house everything was just about done. They have to clean up a little and clear out some rooms and do the exterior painting but for the most part we are good to go. I really can't wait. I've been buying furniture like crazy and I am running out of room to store it all. LOL. I will update again after Pre-Settlement. Here are some pictures from the last time I went to the house.

Entry Way (They better clean all that dirt lol)
 Master Bathroom Vanity

Front of the house (they still need to paint the bay window and the front door)

 Backyard with Privacy Fence

 My Kitchen! ( LOVE IT)

Master Bathroom Shower

Back of the house with the deck ( I love how they are staggered)

View from the deck. I know it's just dirt but I am happy not to see houses. Our PM said the area won't be developed for a while. It's good to know we don't have to worry about privacy for a while.

Almost There!!!!

It's been a while since I updated and a lot of progress has been made! All the vanities, cabinets, granite, carpet, tile, and hardwood has been installed. The interior walls have been painted and all the doors and trim are in now too! On the exterior we have our deck and the sidewalk and front porch. This week our PM said they will be installing the privacy fence and starting to clean up all of the construction dust. We have a preliminary closing date but I won't announce it till we are a little closer ;) I'm starting to get excited cause we are ALMOST THERE! Here are some updated pics I will have more showing more progress when I go see the house tomorrow. I didn't want to take too many pics when the house was in the dusty stage LOL

Construction Update: We Have Walls!!!

Its been a couple of weeks since our Pre-Drywall meeting. I actually didn't expect much progress because of the Holiday's but to my surprise the workers have been working away because the entire house has drywall! They also framed the outside of the front door and put it house number up! It's really starting to look like our house! Our PM told us were about 45 days away from settlement now. Next  week they will start putting in trim, doors, and cabinets. I'm really excited for this part. I wait to see all of my color selections for the cabinets flooring and granite together. Here are some pics of the outside and drywall

Construction Continues

This is just an update of progress. Brick has been completed on the outside and HVAC plumbing and electric have been wired. We saw these things at our pre drywall meeting last week. The PM went over everything they did in great detail. He also explained how the energy Star tests were done and how efficient our home will be. This was another reason we wanted a brand new house. They are set to stay putting up drywall this week. By the first of the year they will be starting trim work and cabinets. This is when it will really start looking like a house!

Construction Update

We actually have a house now! They worked on framing all last week and will continue into this week along with starting HVAC, plumbing, and possibly starting the brick by the end of the week! They will also add the rest of the windows and doors, and start working on shingling the roof. We also scheduled our pre-drywall meeting which is in about 2 weeks. I get even more excited every week! Seeing the progress every week has been great.

So we have three framed floors now! Ours is the one with the bay window. I did have a minor freak out when I saw that the house next to ours had dormer windows and we didn't. I asked the PM and he said we will still have them they just were not installed yet. Crisis averted LOL. I really wanted those dormers. I just think it adds character to the house. I will continue with the construction updates and I will also start posting about some design and furniture ideas that I have. I really can't wait to go shopping for furniture and decor!
